SP3 -> SP4 "upgrade" results in STOP 0x50

P

Patrick

Upgrading resulted in an endless
boot ->
login window (wait a minute without logging in) ->
blue screen of death
stop: 0x50 (0xeb844000, ....)
pagefault_in_nonmapped_area
address 0x8046214a base at 0x80400000
date stamp 3ee6c002 ntoskernel.exe

then a dump and then go through it again.

Thank goodness I kept the archive and managed to
back out in safe mode.

Any clues?

Thanks

Hi all,
I had the same problem with SP3 & SP4.What I did was
bootup on the Win2k CD and did a fast repair but I had to
do it 2 times and it worked with the SP still install.
However you might have some problems with one or 2 of your
programs after that. I had problems with my SQL Server
program. Hope this helps.
