SP3 anomaly

Most of you on here are aware of the taskbar infotip problem where
occasionally they will hide behind the taskbar. The fix I have used is to
click Start/Programs and right click any program and choose sort-by-name.
After installing SP3 a couple of hours ago i noticed this fix no longer
works. How come?, and how do i get my info tips back where they belong?.
