SP2

If SP2 causes too many conflicts with your current
configuration, what should you do outside of not
installing it. After all, if your PC doesnt work properly
with the service pack installed what good is it. As far
as SP1 is concerned, did many people have similar
problems where they were unable to use the service pack.

For the people that are unable to install SP2, does this
mean they will not be able to get any future MS updates
being they will be based on SP2.

Hi

There will still be updates for SP1 a long time to come.

Lifecycle Supported Service Packs
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?pr=lifesupsps

states that WinXP SP1 Pro will be fully supported for 2 years after
the release of SP2, and one year for WinXP SP1 Home.

This means you will get critical security updates for SP1 at least
up to August 2006 (and I would think that this would be relevant
for WinXP SP1 Home as well, as there is very little difference
between Pro and Home in this aspect).
