So

I downloaded and ran the Windows XP SP2 from the micorsoft website many
times now. After the install, the computer restarts, but during the start up
a get a blue screen flashed at me then it restarts itself again and the only
way to get my computer back to normal is to run it in safe mode and do a
system restore. SP2 used to work fine now it doesn't. I have a Dell Dimension
4400, P4 with windows XP home. I have upgraded hardware and SP2 still worked.
Then it just gave up! I have tried upgrading drivers for all the new hardware
thousands of times! Any suggestions?!?! Please help!!

Yes

I checked that many times. I formatted my computer once and used the free
upgrade disc before connecting it to the internet. This was one of my major
issues. Nothing works.

Did you do a clean install of your OS to necessitate this upgrade now?
If so why not just use auto-update and let windows do the rest.

What version of OS are you using - XP SP0, or XP SP1? Is it a
professional version or Home edition?

Regards,

Yes

It was a clean install, I've tried it while running from SP0 and SP1. Also,
Auto update does the same thing as a manual update.

Please keep sending suggestions, something has to work.

Did you disable your anti virus before installing?
