Problems updating to SP2

Bob Swieciki

I've been trying to install Windows XP Home SP2. System keeps locking up. I've manually installed all available SP2 critical updates individually. Are there SP2 issues?

This has me quite perplexed. Any help or info would be greatly appreciated.

My Info: Dell Dimension 4400, 1.60 gigahertz Intel Pentium 4, 18 kilobyte primary memory cache, 256 kilobyte secondary memory cache
Slot 'J5G3' has 256 MB, Slot 'J5G1' is Empty

MAXTOR 6L040L2 [Hard drive] (40.03 GB) -- drive 0, rev A93.0500, 40.02 Gigabytes Usable Hard Drive Capacity
34.35 Gigabytes Hard Drive Free Space

SP2 is a single update. It is available on CD or can be downloaded.
Installing from a CD is the easier way to do it. You can use any SP2
CD, indeed Microsoft have encouraged friends to share a CD.

There have a lot of Critical Updates post SP2, which are downloaded
from the Microsoft website.

Hope this helps.
