Help!

I found the dbx files and pointed to them but they
wouldn't come up after intalling SP2, so not having luck
with all of my email, I uninstalled sp2, but that did not
restore any of my email. It is still gone.

Help!

If (I think this is how it works) you just change the mail store path in
Outlook Express then it shifts the current store to the new location writing
over the files you want to restore.

You should have copied the old files into your current store.

Yeah, I tried that but it is not recognizing the path. So
I have moved all of my stored email to the new path, but
it still shows no email stored. Also I don't have any of
my email addresses either. Would that also be a dbx
file? In the future, when Windows suggests backing files
up, it does not suggest how to do that. I would not have
known about dbx files it if weren't for you good folks on
this forum.

Tools>Options>Maintenance>Store folder will reveal the location of your
current Identity's store. Write it down.

In WindowsXP, the OE user files (DBX and WAB) are by default marked as
hidden. To view these files in Explorer, you must enable Show Hidden Files
and Folders under Start>Control Panel>Folder Options>View.

In Explorer, search for .DBX files. Any found which are not located in your
current store will most likely be those from your pre-SP2 Identity. You can
Import them using File>Import>Messages....
