I just installed SP2 and then went into my Outlook Xpress,
all of my email and my folders, my address book has been
wiped out. Is there a way to revert back to a pre-SP2
state? I have attempted a restore, but it tells me that
there is no change between the pre-SP2 state and the post
SP2 state. Does Windows have a way to restore the data?
Also, how can I avoid this from happening again? What
files should I save before performing this task again?

Thanx

Search for .dbx files and search for hidden files. Once you've found the
ones you're missing, open OE and go to Tools/Options/Maintenance/Store
Folder and change the folder to the one that has your goodies in it and
voila!, back to normal ;-)

Hey Alias,

Thanks for the feedback. I found the dbx files and
pointed to them as you suggested, but when I open OE
again, they are not showing. Also how would I be able to
get my address book of email addresses back online? I
don't think they are part of the dbx files, perhaps I'm
wrong, I don't know.

Thanx.

It's not in that folder? Do a search for .wab and then import it using
File/Import in OE. Do the same for the messages. Maybe then you'll get back
your messages. You can always configure your accounts again.

Here's an excellent back up program for OE so you never have to go through
this again.
