I know you're supposed to post problems in this NG, but I just wanna say
that I have not had a single solitary problem since installing SP2. My
system runs like a dream. (Athlon XP 2400+, 1Gb RAM, Asus A7N-8X.)

I'm just happy with my installation of SP2!
Cheers,

Since installing SP2 I am experiencing very slow login to the desktop. After
entering userid and password it takes more than a minute to see the icons on
the desktop. The wallpaper appears immediately but then nothing happens on
the desktop for more than a minute. During this time the disk access light
is flickering constantly. I have Win XP Pro running on an Athlon 1.33 GHz
cpu with 512 Mb RAM, and 120 Gb Hard Drive. I am running Mcafee Internet
Security which includes a firewall, anti-virus, and spam killer. On SP1
logins were very fast.

you slow start might be form dcom in services I had the
same problem and found that disable dcom and it stopped.
I also found that if I went to the properties for dcom
and disabled the logon profile it it worked with dcom
installed. I had a problem with norton system works
after install of xp2 also and I removed it and
reinstalled and then I found that I could restart dcom
logon provile and it worked but I am not sure if
reloading norton fixed it. you can get to services by
start then control panel then admin tools then sevices.
