SP2 upgrade problem

I reformatted the hard drive and reinstalled XP Pro. Then I started the
updates from the MS site. Everything went fine until SP2. After the install,
the color settings set themselves to 4 bit, making everything look like a
cartoon. This computer is in a small school, and I've done the same upgrade
to a dozen other computers with the same hardware and drivers without this
problem. When I used System Restore to go back prior to SP2, everything was
fine with the display. I tried the download and install again, and had the
same problem again.

Any ideas?

identify the video card and reinstall the updated drivers from the
manufacturers website ..or

a free register at www.driverguide.com to find the drivers needed.

Sorry it took so long to get back to you. I've been out of town, not at the
school. I downloaded a new driver, and everythings working fine. Thank you.
