Problem upgrading to SP2

Hi

Having huge issues with upgrading to SP2
Have tried many different things and have also looked at microsofts KB
articles to find some answers.

When i upgrade to SP2 it loads the main desktop and then everything stops
nothing works keyboard, mouse, hard drive activity.

Removed SP2 and looked at getting KB885263, which tehy explained was
somehting to do with my BIOS so i installed the update and restarted and when
i went back into windows to apply SP2 it froze exactly the same.

Removed the update and everything is fine.

Have checked with esupport for a bios update and there are none available

Kind of lost as i have a lapotp that cannot upgrade to SP2 succesfully and
any new programs require SP2 as default.

P.s. on another note if i upgrade to SP2 and load in safe mode everyhting is
fine and i can move around with no problems and if i change the computer from
ACPI to general PC and load windows normally everyhting is fine

any help will be most helpful

how much room do you have on your hard drive?
I don't have the link but you can search the MS site and download sp2 as a
complete file.
Save the file to your hard drive and try the install from there.

have tried both downloading from microsoft website and have also tried from
the CD with the same problem
