I've been communicating in the Networking section regarding DHCP no longer
working and unable to view a certain (one) web page. Despite excellent
feedback and help, these issues are still outstanding.

I now strongly suspect that the problem may be associated with SP2 being
installed on my host PC (running XP Home). I was going to uninstall SP2 but
in doing so a window comes up with a somewhat long list of programs that MAY
not work if I do. I'm surprised that uninstalling SP2 may have such a big
effect. Should I perform a sys restore checkpoint and proceed with the
uninstall ?? or presume my problems are not SP related?? I don't won't to
mess PC up and re-install.

My SP2 installations correctly work with my DHCP system.

XP SP2 replaces a lot of Windows files that were original found to have
problems with. This is why it warns you during the removal.

Things to try:

1) Check for updated network drivers and install them.
2) Turn off Windows firewall to see if the DHCP is working
3) Check cables.
4) Check for and remove spywares
5) Check for viruses.

Yves,

Thanks for reply. I done all you suggested except one.....check for updated
network drivers. Are you saying that all the NIC card drivers may need
updating since SP2 was introduced ?????
