SP2 Uninistall/XP Reinstall/"Access Denied"

I am reinstalling XP professional to fix a corrupted system. My Windows CD
is for Windows XP, but I later updated to SP2 using Microsoft update. I
understand that I must uninstall SP2 in order to use my Windows CD, but...

The removal of SP2 fails with a message, "access denied." It does not say
what is being accessed or how to make it available to remove SP2. So...

I'm dead in the water with a corrupted system and a legal installation disk
that I cannot use. Any suggestions?

All you need to do is make a SP2 slipstreamed version of your
current Windows XP, then use the new CD to perform a
"Repair Install".

Either one of the following utilities makes slipstreaming
(integrating) SP2 into Windows XP a breeze:

or

AutoStreamer 1.0.33 (preferred)

Good evening,

Carey, I have a question for you. What does using AutoStreamer do for us
that we can not do ourselves? I have not played with that tool yet, so
maybe I better retract the question until I do.......

Just curious. Slipstreaming SP2 with WINXP Pro ( or any Service Pack with
its OS, for that matter ) is a pretty straightforward process. Or, so I
have thought all these years!

I look forward to your comments!

Hi,

AutoStreamer creates a ready ISO file for you in a very user
friendly way, with very little user interaction.

For some screen shots of the process, please take a look here:
