My system restore has stopped working.

It goes through all the motions then tells me it cannot complete the
restore. This is the same no matter what restore point I chose.

It was OK prior to installing SP2.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi

One or more of the System Restore files could have been corrupted - try
turning SR off/on - but I'm afraid that you will lose any existing
checkpoints:

Right click My Computer, select Properties and then the System Restore tab.
Enable 'Turn off System Restore on all drives' and reboot your PC. After
that 1st reboot go back into SR and disable 'Turn off System Restore on all
drives' and reboot your PC again. After that 2nd reboot you should have one
new SR checkpoint.

That seems to have sorted it. Many thanks.

Another problem I have that I believe is SP2 related is I have lost my
Start, shutdown, and empty recycle bin sounds.

If I go to sounds in control panel, I find these items still have the
sound allocated to them and will also play when tested with the play
button in control panel sounds!!!

Any ideas please?
