Hi can anyone help? I am unable to use system restore. Everytime I try, it
goes through the motions and then tells me that it is unable to restore to
the reqested date. I have checked that restore is turned on on all drives, I
have tried several dates with no luck. Any ideas guys?

Unfortunately, although it should never happen, System Restore occasionally
gets corrupted. When it does, all you can do is turn it off (which will
delete all the existing restore points), then turn it back on again.

restore" at

Hi Ken,

The most common cause of this error these days is the installation of Norton
2006 - 2007 applications. Norton, in there infinite wisdom has resided
System Restore is an unauthorized application and has disabled it. Much like
a virus infection would do!

I've moved this link to the top of the 'System Restore Fails' page.

Thanks for the update, Bert. I didn't know that, and will remember it for
the future

Still another reason to hate Symantec!
