SP2 success story

I went ahead and installed SP2 last month, and so far everything
works great! A matter fact, the computer seems faster! I can't find any
incompatibility's yet. I was impressed how streamlined and simple the
installation interface was. Towards the end of the install, it asked me a
few questions regarding how I wanted the firewall to functions, etc. It saw
Zone Alarm and asked if I would be using it. After telling it I would be
using Zone Alarm as my firewall, it asked about which security center I
wanted to use, McAfee's or SP2, I was impressed that it was aware of my
configuration and used that data to make the best choice setting up.
I know I'm one person, but I thought I'd share my story none the less.
I hope other's have just as much luck as I did.

Most people have experiences like yours. But you're the rare
person who reports here. Most people who post here about SP2 are
those who have had trouble with it, and they come here looking
for help. This unfortunately leads many people to erroneously
conclude that almost everyone is having problems with it.

Yes, I'm also a happy SP2 installer. No problems at all since installing 2
months ago.
Just one snag with ZoneAlarm, since uninstalled.

I agree. Just like the evening news, most of the reports are negative.
I have an Athlon 900MHZ w/512megs of RAM, 80 GIG HD Nvida video card, and
sound blaster PCI512 sound card. I was thinking with older hardware I may
have a problem, but as I stated, everything went smooth. I just wanted to
let you all hear a positive story for a change. :)

Ditto x 3. No problems on three machines here--one high-performance
desktop, a P4 notebook, and an old 440BX PIII desktop.

I've installed SP2 on numerous systems now - upwards of 30 - with only
couple of small glitches requiring a new driver and a second re-instal
due to a program incompatability which required an update from th
software supplier. The update goes well as long as the system is faul
free to start with and the recommended procedures are followed.
haven't bothered posting about each success, but if someone has on
problem due to them not doing things properly then the 'Don't Touc
SP2' scream goes out immediately.

Well done all those who keep their systems in good running order

You're absolutely correct. The majority of users don't take the time
nor care to keep their systems free of viruses or spyware. I would suspect
that the most the people the whine about SP2 didn't follow the instructions,
not saying that the update doesn't have certain problems, but there are
those who just click though dialog boxes or whatever pops on their screens
without thinking about it. I find some people install a virus scanner, and
don't bother updating it feeling that it's adequate leaving it the way it
is. The thing is as we all know, updating a system isn't just beneficial to
you, but prevents other's from seizing you computer to launch attacks on the
rest of us.

"...or what?"
They seem to simply giving facts about their successes.
Is there a problem with giving their facts?
