SP2 Security Centre Misreporting.

Following XP-SP2 download I decided to compare AntiVirus products -
uninstalled Norton Antivirus - but the SC dtill reported it in place &
up-to-date. I have followed Symantec's manual uninstall process - but still
the same. Now when I add any other product the SC either ignores the
presence of the new product or claims that two AV products have been found.
a) Can anyone shed light on why this is happening & how NAV is so
persistent........... there seem to be some NAV registry keys that refuse to
be deleted as well - though the programs/libraries referenced no longer exist.
b) What the SC is finding to confirm NAV presence.

Uninstall the "Norton WMI Update" from "Control Panel|Add/Remove
Programs" (Do not do this if you intend to return to Norton Antivirus,
or you will have to reinstall it by updating NAV again)
