Hi there,

Just installed Service Pack 2 and now find that Winamp (version 5.05)
crashes on start-up. I re-installed Winamp but the problem remains... just
wondering if anyone else has had this problem.

Cheers
Paul

Actually, to answer my own question...

At this early stage, it looks like the Audioscrobbler plug-in is the
culprit... I should have checked the plug-ins before I posted, my apologies.

Glad you found the solution (and posted about it).;

Too often, successful resolutions are not posted for others to see (and
learn about).

Well, it's sheer stupidity to use SP2 at all. I mean, imagine if your
processor was a Prescott? That would be wonderful. You might have to
remove the processor and put in an older Pentium or Celeron just to load
Windows to roll back to SP1.

SP2? No ****ing thank you!

Uh, that won't happen unless the person tries to install *the full
installer package* without knowing what they're doing and installing
the fix first. Come up with an actual reason to attack something,
next time, kid.

Well like everybody else I downloaded and installed the ~250MB IT
version before the public version was released. And what fix are you
talking about? The last flash update for my BIOS? That was from August
3rd and does not address the SP2/Prescott issue.

You should take your own advice and not attack someone without a reason,
guy.
