SP2 messing up file sharing?

(If this is a duplicate post, sorry. News client crashed on post.)

OK, I might be crazy, but I could swear before installing SP2 on our
WinXP systems that we could file share within our network to Program
Files folder, and Fonts folder and the like.

Now sharing those directories directly appears to be disabled, and if
we navigate the C: drive from a remote machine, it won't allow us to
enter Program Files.

Is this right? Is it SP2 that's preventing this?
If so, is there a way to allow remote access into these folders again?

We have file sharing as an exception in the SP2 firewall, and can
browse other folders just fine.

Thanks for any help!
Liam

As far as I remember you could not access/share out the program files folder
in xp, sp1, or sp2. (Someone correct me if I'm wrong)

YES! For some reason, SP2 turned off my file sharing. I had to re-run the
Networking wizard.

Yeah. It also caused three hurricanes to hit Florida in a month!
And it will also cause the Red Sox to lose to the Yankees again.

Check in Folder Options - View to see if 'Use Simple File sharing' has
been re-enabled (has not been for me, but that sounds like the symptom)
