Sp2 = messenger icon appearing in system tray?

After installing sp2 I noticed when opening outlook
express the Windows Messenger icon appears in the system
tray for a second and then it disappears - I
have "automatically log onto windows messenger"
unchecked. This did not happen in sp1. Is there any way
to stop the icon from appearing?

If you close Outlook Express, then download and run the following .reg file this behavior
should stop:
