SP2 Kills Programs

All day yesterday, downloading SP2 monopolized my computer.

Today I tried to run a program, and each time I try to open a
file with the program, the program ends.

It is a file maintenance program for Metastock.

What can I do?

Contact the maker of the software for clues.

I cannot get Adobe PDF to open AFTER I downloaded Service Pack 2.
What's the fix?

Rmove Adobe Acrobat (PDF) reader and install the latest version. Somehow,
Adobe PDF are taken over by Microsoft Journal reader.
