I have just got a used computer that runs with XP SP1
I need to install SP2
Actually I have this service pack on a genuine microsoft CD.
It was ordered from microsoft.
But this came from Microsoft over one year ( or more) ago.
Question is...should I use this disk or should I download the latest set up
from Microsoft?
Being over a year old it does not contain the patches/updates released since
then. How about the downloadable version? When downloading does it contain
the most recent patches or will the system have to be brought up to speed
regardless. What's the best thing to do?
Thanks for the advice in advance

There is no newer version of SP2. After SP2 is installed go to
Microsoft Update and grab the 60 or so post SP2 updates. There is no
cumulative CD for these. They'll be rolled into SP3 whenever that comes
out (next year sometime?).
