SP2 installation(SQL-froze system)

In the middle of installing SP2 my system froze on
SQLOLEDB.RLL. Also, shortly before that, two color boxes
about a 1" x 1" appreared on the bottom of my screen.
What is .RLL and can anyone tell what happened. Prior to
installing SP2, I updated, ran and closed blastware,
sypot, ZoneAlarm, Mcafee. Then ran scan disc, defrag and
closed all programs on task bar. What happened?
