I get an installation error at the very end everytime I try to install SP2
from the Windows website download. I can't re-download it b/c when I try it
says I've already downloaded it and need to install. Where is the download
stored by default so I can remove it and try again? It's not installed yet
so not available on 'add/remove' programs, yet under the add/remove there are
some 'windows xp hotfix (sp2) items. Is it partially installed?

What is the Error message ?

1. Internet Options > Delete files
2. Tick "Delete all offline content" > Click OK

If the above method fails then:
1. Start > Run
2. "%userprofile%\Local settings\Temporary internet files\Content.Ie5\"
3. Delete the folders/files.

You could try downloading the full installation package and then run that
from your system, rather than doing it through windows update, or order the
SP2 CD. The most important part in having SP2 apply successfully is making
sure the system is operating with no problems and no malware infections.
