So here's my story, long: Dad upgraded to SP2 all in one
chunk online. Everything seemed OK. Shut it down, The next
morning it wont boot up, keeps saying there is problems
with my MSGina.dll file. I call up tech suport and they
say I need to run the setup disks and then the install
disc. CAnt find my install Disc anywhere! So I go get xp
Pro, Now it wont install, keeps saying it has a problem
with a .sif file-value 0 on the line section
[sourcedisksfiles] with key "sp2.cab". How do I fix this?

What exactly does it say about the MSGina.dll file? Paraphrasing an
error message can be worse than useless when seeking support. What is
needed is the *verbatim* text as in more than a few instances it is
the presence or the absence of a single word in the error message text
that is the essential clue needed to identify the culprit.

Here, for example is one possible solution to your problem:

"Logon User Interface DLL Msgina.dll failed to load" error message
after you install the MS04-003 security update
Microsoft Knowledge Base Article - 836683

If that is not relevant to your situation then please post a response
back here and include the actual error message text.

Good luck

I am receiving the same error when trying to install xp pro on my
machine. I had to reinstall due to numerous reasons and have
formatted the drive already. Cannot get the machine to boot to the XP
CDROM even though it searches for a bootable CD during post.

Getting very frustracted. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
