sp2 for single computer with just windowsxp installed !!!

My internet connection is not working now it is pinging properly but nothing
is on the browser......please anyone help... actually I faced the same
problem earlier.. then I uninstalled some hotfix of internet explorer and it
crashed

please see the previous message above !!!!
 
I installed windows... then I installed the sp2 which you mentioned... I am
using ibm R50 laptop. and my internet explorer doesnot work...!!! ping is
working properly I haven't made any changes to the network configuration.
