SP2 causing *.wav file problems

Using Windows Media Player 9 before and after XP SP2, and never having
problems listening to *.wav files, I can't open them after having installed
SP2. For the moment I convert them to *.mp3 files which I can hear with
Windows Media Player 9 without any problems.
Others having the same experience? How do I solve the problem?

Sincerely
A former wave fan

Like others having the same problem, reinstalling Windows Media Player 9
fixed the problem.
If someone please could tell me, why I could not open wave files after XP
SP, and why reinstalling Windows Media Player 9 fixed the problem.

Sincerely
