SP2 and Adobe Acrobat Reader

I've recently installed Service Pack 2 on one of our XP Home PC's to see if
everything worked OK with it. All our programs seem to work fine except
Adobe Acrobat Reader 5.0. I checked the list of programs that have problems
with SP2 but Acrobat Reader wasn't on it. After i re-installed it, it worked
fine. I was just wondering if anyone else had experienced the same thing.

I also had the Task Manager (TASKMAN.EXE) in my start up menu so it would
run when I boot, but even though it's still there, it doesn't run when i
start anymore. I've tried to remove from startup and put it back but it
still won't work.

These aren't major problems, but I'd like to know why these things happened.

Thanks for any help or advice in advance

uninstall 5.0, go to Adobe's web site & download/install the latest version, 6.xx ,
for free.

Thanks for your repliess. I've already re-installed Acrobat Reader and it
works. I was just wondering why SP2 caused it to stop working. Surely MS
would have tested it and put it on the list as it's a widely used piece of
software.

And does anyone know why the task manager now fails to load at startup.
It's still in the startup list but it just doesn't open.

Thanks again

Installing such a big update changes things and often requires reinstalls of
apps. Don't worry about it. Does the shortcut run the task manager when you
click on it?

Thanks Giga,
The shortcut didn't run, so i deleted it and made a new one to
C:\Windows\Taskman.exe. I was sure this was the right app but that didn't
run when i double-clicked it either. Then i figured out it's the
system32\taskmgr.exe file i should be running (i can be such an idiot).
Anyway it works now. Thanks so much for your help :-D

It took me several hours, but I finally found the program that was
causing my XP-SP2 machine not to go into hibernation mode: Acrobat
Reader 5.0. I installed 6.0 and the machine now properly hibernates.
