I have Windows XP Professional with service pack 1,
however their is several SP2 updates that has downloaded
and installed as I have ny comp. config. to auto update
and install. Why am I getting service Pack 2 updates?
Their is actually six that is installed now, I have
edited several of them through the control panel add
remove options and going to the microsoft site that
appear in the box when highlighted, the issues appears to
be problems I have had at some point. But Dell Comp.
tech. supp. said to restore my computer back to the point
of their install point and restore it so to get rid of
them because their not supposed to be no my comp. Their
again I am unable to restore that far back, actually
March 12 is the only restore point that will even work
and restore, this has also been a problem sence I
purchased it July, 2003 7 1/2 month ago. Should I try
removing them or just leave them? Now when I go to
windows update and check for any new updates manually it
finds two and downloads them but stop responding when it
starts to install? Also my computer sounds like it is
running really fast and gets faster as it goes, then
sometime it starts slowing down to what sounds normal?
Dell sent me a new 120GB WD hard drive to correct this
and that didn't work. It sounds like the processors
speeding up, again I have no clue. any thought on this
would be appreciated also. e-mail (e-mail address removed)
Thanks
