SP1 Update

When I try to update Windows XP with SP1 and it will download but when it is
installing, it gives an error that states the patch can't be found. It is a
newer computer and is running Windows XP Professional. What path is it
looking for?

Any help will be appreciated.
 
Hi

If you have a newer computer, SP1 might have already been installed on it. Go to Start>Run and type in 'winver' without the quotes. If SP1 is already installed you will see it at the end of the brackets after 'Version 5.1'.

If SP1 isn't installed, have a look at the Windows Update.log file - which can be found in the Windows folder - for any error messages - towards the end of the file. If any are found, see if they are referenced here:
