SP1 and updates?

Does anyone have an idea when microsoft will cease offering SP1 and it's post release hot fixes?

If I do a 'clean' OS install in 6 months, or two years, will I still be able to get sp1 and it's hot fixes - stopping short of sp2?

SP2 is NOT a nightmare.

For *most* who know how to read and follow instructions, it goes well, and
makes your computer experience quite enjoyable.

The service pack itself may or may not be a nightmare. I have no additional interest in finding out. One thing that is a fiasco is the installation thereof.

Maybe (?) Microsoft put out a decent sp. However, the folks that coded the install ought to be fired outright!

I was stalling, but after reading what to do before installing, I went ahead
and gave SP2 a try.. Seems to work fine, except for a few minor annoyances.
In fact I'd have to say my computer is now more stable than before..
