SP-2 Glitches

Robert

After installing sp2,several anomalies appered.
1.The "clear' button on Yahoo e-mail no longer works.
2.The "select satelite" button on "Weather.com" no
longer works.
3.In some cases, realplayer will not provide audio,
just the video on some newscasts.

Any suggestions? I did a "system restore" and all is
well again but would like to keep the sp2 update if
possible.

Third party product - contact them.

Interesting - third party again?

Perhaps you should update each of those prducts where applicable, check your
Internet Security settings in IE for any web page related issues (popup
blocker settings as well) and contact the creators of the products (go to
their respective web page faqs and look for known SP2 issues) and see what
they have to say.

The information is provided "as is", it is suggested you
research for
yourself before you take any advice - you are the one

you are
getting into before you jump in with both feet.

It’s so funny how most people on here just push the problems away from
Microsoft. Microsoft has a responsibility it do there own testing as
well as third parties. It might be different for a smaller company but
let’s face it, Microsoft owns PC’s. There is no denying that.

I don’t use Weather Bug or Real Player but my Yahoo issues went away
when I uninstalled SP2.

If you do uninstall SP2 please make sure you are running good third
party Anti Virus and Firewall software. Also make sure your computer
is up to date with Virus Def’s and Windows Updates.

Hope this helps...

Numerous changes in IE have affected a number of sites that use extensive
scripting. We are in a period of transition now where sites that use scripting
will need to modify some of their code so that they don't run against the
restrictions now in place to prevent the spread and execution of malicious
code through the browser.

I don't use Yahoo mail but this could be your problem. Try adding yahoo.com
to your trusted sites list.

You could try removing Weather Bug and Real Player, then install SP2
and then reinstall Weather Bug and Real Player. Also maybe download
and try Fire Fox for your Yahoo Mail. It’s a Mozilla browser and maybe
you won’t have the IE issues anymore.
