SP 1 wont install

Ive tried to install service pack one several times, but
it will not install. When I go to the windows update
website and do a "scan for updates" it always lists SP1
as one of the updates I need. If I go to "view
installation history" it shows SP1 status as "in
progress". The first installation was on 29 Sep.
