Using msconfig in xp home, I see 2 identical registry entries which I
cannot connect with a particular program. I know there's a utility
which will show id'ing info about them, I'm pretty sure I even HAVE the
damned thing, but I can't for the life of me remember what it's called!
Any help?

TIA

What are the registry entries?

There are a plethora, although msconfig will tell you what you want if you
double click the divider to the right of the location heading.
OTOH are you talking about msinfo32, startup cop, hijackthis, autoruns,
silent runners, SpyBot or some other 3rd party tool?

Thanks for the replies, in MSconfig the entries have nothing listed
under "startup item" or "command", and read "hkcu\software\microsoft\
windows\current version\run. No other info to the right of "run".
Double clicking the divider has no effect. I went into regedit & looked
up the entries & determined what they are (I know, DUHHHH). Still like
to know what that utility was, though. Wasn't "hijack this" or spybot
sd, it was a 3rd party utility.

Thanks,

Dan

Those are being started from that registry key (use regedit.exe)..
hkcu is short for HKEY_CURRENT_USER\

What is being run will show there, or ought to be in MSConfig's Command
column, if you drag the other divider to see that properly
