Sounds - lost new mail notification

This might be silly but I lost my Outlook Express 'New Mai
Notification' sound. I went to: start / control panel / sounds an
looked there to redo my sound and ... it was gone. No 'New Mai
Notification' at all. I don't know where it went or what I did. I d
know that I had some difficulty with my graphics but that is no
sound... ugh. I've searched for hours to find the sound or to downloa
or if I could just copy that folder from my laptop control panel an
replace the missing one??? I have winddows xp / pentium 4 / 2.40 GHz
1.0 GB RAM if that helps. Thank you for taking the time... I d
appreciate it

Why didn't you save your sound scheme. If you did, reload that scheme.
or if I could just copy that folder from my laptop control panel and
replace the missing one?

Export these keys from the laptop's registry:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\AppEvents\EventLabels\MailBeep
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\AppEvents\Schemes\Apps\.Default\MailBeep\.current
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\AppEvents\Schemes\Apps\.Default\MailBeep\.default

Import these keys (PC) and try again. You might be better off when
creating System Restore points prior to this action.

Thank you for the advice on saving my sound scheme and for the info
with the registry!
