I have a maddog fx4 sound card and a geforce4 64mb video
card. I am running windows XP Professional with 256 MB
RAM on a AMD 450. When my daugheter plays some games, the
sound quality is jerky. It sounds as if the person is
stuttering on every word. If I put it into 256 colors,
the sound if fine, but the display is blanked out till the
mouse moves across it or the screen is needed by the
program. HELP!!! I have tried compatablity mode -no
help. I have tried various settings with the video -no
help. I have tried uninstalling and re-installing the
sound card and video card -No help. I will try anything
again if someone has a good idea.

Hi

Your AMD 450 CPU could be the problem. It is at the lower end of the range to run XP. If possible try upgrading the CPU - you will have to look in the motherboard manual to see what is the maximum CPU that it can take. Ideally go for a 800+MHz CPU
