Sounds are truncated

When I play back a presentation the last word is sometimes cut off. I have
added a second or two to the length of the slide display time, and I have
edited the sound in Goldwave. All of the sound is in the wav file. Also, I
added one, then two, seconds of silence to the end of the .wav file.

Any suggestions?
 
Thank you very much, the page that you pointed me to has many suggestions.
I'm sure one of them will work. Who would have thought the problem might have
been caused by having text as the last object displayed, for example.
