Subject: Sound Card voice disappear

My mother board has built-in sound card. All along is ok until recently I use anti-spyware (or anti-Adware, or up grade MediaPlayer), suddenly no voice.
At first I thought the driver delete accidentally, but not look like. Because even I purposely delete the relevant file, when I boot up, automatically prompt me found hardware.
Now I found something in Sound and Audio Devices. In its Properties Hardware properties > General I see " Via Ac97 Audio Controller (WDM) is installed, but it say the Status: Driver is enabled but has not been started"
I think this is the problem. How can I do? Please advise.
I also found when I try to play Media, it says another program is using this driver...... something like that, what it means?

Thanks

Frankie

You didn't fully delete all traces of the old driver (did you remember
to remove the oem*.inf files from %systemroot%\inf?). At this point, I
recommend to reinstall the driver yourself. Steps to try (in order).

1.
Contact the motherboard manufacturer for updated drivers and then use
their install (apparently, Viaarena.com have some drivers you can use).

2.
Use the motherboard support cd that your manufacturer gave you.

3. (only if you have an inf file for the soundcard)
Select "Update Driver",
"Install from a list (Advanced)",
"Don't search I will choose the driver to install".
If the list is empty, click "have disk", and navigate to the inf file.
Click Continue anyway if asked about unsigned drivers.
File Copy begins when you press next.
If the wizard complains about missing files, do a search for them.
Reboot when finished.

4.
Rollback Driver.

5.
System Restore.

6.
Restore system from Backup. You did backup didn't you?
