I have a new Dell with surrond sound, an wont to hook up a head set with
microphone, There are only four plugins to the sound card an the surround
sound takes up three of them, How do I hook up the head set.

Check the plugins (jacks), for one of them should have a graphic/picture next
to it showing a headset. That's where you plug in the headset and not your
surround sound. Also check your accompanying brochure of the surround sound
on how to properly connect the speakers. If all else fails, contact tech
support
from Dell, in that your PC is new, you should have free support for one year.
