Sound?

Hey! Well I ordered my RC1 DVD about 2 weeks ago, so I should soon be getting
it; maybe in the following two weeks. I've been preparing my laptop to be
Vista ready. Even though it does have the sticker, I had to put in a new hard
drive because I only had a 40GB and I didn't have enough space. Alright so
this question relates more to sound playback with Windows Vista. After I ran
the Windows Vista tool that tells you if your computer is Vista capable, it
told me that my sound card? might not work correctly. Do you think it will? I
really don't want to have to change my sound card for this. What's so
different about the actual sounds in Windows Vista that'll make any problems
occur? I hope that everything on my computer that's sound related (music,
games, videos, and other sounds) end up working fine, but do you have any
ideas? I have a Dell Inspiron E1405. I don't have the actual sound card
information because my laptop is @ Best Buy getting it's Hard Drive
update...haha! But yea, any help will be appreciated!
Thanks

Manufacturer's drivers for Vista may not be provided until Vista is
released - or may not available at all if the manufacturer is no longer
supporting the hardware.

How audio is handled has changed considerably from previous versions.
This is one reason that audio software that ran on XP may not on Vista.

It told me the same for my old Yamaha sound card. Oddly enough, it works
fine for playback as long as I don't install the driver that Windows Update
tries to give me. However, Windows Media Encoder no longer captures sound
from it.

My SoundBlaster 5.1 seems to work OK with just sound, no special stuff, but
I am trying to capture audio from the line in port, and in order to hear it,
I have to enable the TAD input--. I guess I don't understand why I hear
sound from the TAD (if enabled), when nothing is connected to that input,
but I can't hear it through the line in.
