i have installed the beta version of the creative audigy zs 2, but sound is
awful, and very irritating, at the moment creative wont allow me to access
the autoupdate for some reason, what do i have to do?

Hope the final release version of their drivers is better. Check on the
Creative tech support site for a link to their forums.

i have currently disabled the cmss in the console that came with the driver
and that has so far stopped it

When I installed Home Premium, it updated the sound card (same as yours)
through Windows Update
Did you try Windows Update?
