Build 5728 has NVIDIA drivers

Have just completed a clean install of Vista x86 RC1 Second Edition (build
5728).

It appears that NVIDIA RAID controller drivers are inbuilt as all partitions
were presented during installation setup of Vista - no need to preload
drivers.

Install went through quickly in less than 25 minutes.

I had to load Creative Audigy drivers and Silicon Image Drivers as not
available/loaded during install.

SLI still does not work - same excuse - no free resources !

Worth trying if you've had problems with NVIDIA controller drivers.

Board: Gigabyte GA-K8NXP-SLI with GV-3D1 video card (Dual 6600GT SLI) and
Creative Audigy 2 ZS Sound.

I too just installed 5728 as an upgrade over RC1, however I can't get my
Audigy 2 ZS to work
this time around. Please advise on what drivers and method used to get
your's working. Thanks

Doug

I loaded version 2.10.0000, the beta2 drivers, available by initially going
to http://uk.europe.creative.com/support/downloads/ .

These have always worked (for me) on x86 but have proved problematic on
Vista x64 (I have yet to try them on 5728)

Vista X64 Creative driver install:

Press F8 on boot, select "Disable driver signature verification" (something
like that) and install.

You will have to hit F8 every time you boot to enable unsigned drivers to
work

The uninstall fuction of version 2.10.0000 isn't very good. You may have to
return to a restore point before the initial failed driver install or
reformat C: and try again if you have a failed installation

Thanks

I followed your advice and was able to install version 2.10.0000 on the
first attempt
- it took a very long time to install but I allowed it to take its time.

Vista installs (both x64 and x86) but only "half" the SLI is fully
installed. I used the forceware version 96.33 drivers.
In the Device Manager \ Display Adapters one of the cards is flagged and
reports "no resources".

Vista appears to run OK - no obvious Video problems but I have yet to run
any games. Aero runs fine.

Your black screens may be a IDE/SATA Controller issue as I did have problems
with 5600 when I used NVIDIA SATA Controller RC1 drivers and got BSODs. I
had to use WinXP Controller drivers to get Vista to run.

With 5728 the embedded SATA Controller drivers work OK - but SLI still does
not work.
