Sound

Does anybody know if i put in a new speaker assembly in my gateway laptop
would the sound work?? As of right now i have to plug in external speakers to
get sound....there is a lil sound coming out but not loud...please help if u
have any info on this.....

Hi there Katie,

It really depends on what the actual problem is with the internal speakers
as to whether or not replacing the speaker assembly would work.

Just out of curiousity, what kind of external speakers are you using? Are
they powered, meaning, do you have to plug them into the wall for them to
work? If not, then you may have to get powered speakers in order to get
better sound.

Also, have you checked into you speaker settings to see what the volume is
set at? You can do this by either double-clicking on the Speaker icon in the
lower right corner of your screen, or going to Start>Settings>Control Panel,
and clicking on Sound, Speech and Audio Devices, then click on Sound and
Audio Devices, then click on the Volume Control button. Make sure that your
Volume Control and Wave sliders aren't near the bottom.
