Windows XP Sound trouble

hey
I just installed avid XpressDV on my computer.
for some reason when i play a music file, i can't hear any music, even though on screen, the bars are moving, indicating that the file is being played... any ideas??
 
You probably have one of your inputs muted in the sound mixer, likely to be aux; line in or video, possibly wav.
