Sound segments with slide presentations

I've 70 or so slides with sound segments spanning 4-5 slides on average. The
segments play correctly when I test starting at the immediately preceeding
slide, but when I start from the beginning of the presentation only the first
sound segment plays for the 4-5 slides, all subsequent sound segments only
play for the first slide in the 4-5 slide sequence. How can I get the
subsequent sound segments to play for their next 4-5 slides?
