Sound Scheme Event Choices?

Is there a difference between windows event choices for sounds in XP
home and XP Pro? My XP Pro pc lists almost every windows event such as
minimize, maximize ,close, etc... but, my friends XP Home only lists a
few events and most of them are associated with Internet Explorer and
messenger events not windows events. Is there a windows component that
needs to be installed to get more choices?

I think it depends on what sound scheme he chose.
if yours and his are the same sound theme, then he may be missing a few
system files.
check his sound scheme by going to the control panel and choosing
sounds/multimedia.
