How do I restore access to Sound Recorder? It's not available in my Start
sequence and it doesn't show up when I search for the .exe.

I have the same problem with Volume Control. I have tried checking the
"place icon in System Tray" radio button but get an error message saying the
program is not installed. When I go through Add Programs it is not one of
the options shown.

Anybody???

TIA,

Terry

Terry, it appears that you have to reinstall the driver for your audio
device. Since I don't know what that is I can't help you
any further. You could try using Aida System Information Utility. It's
free and will tell you what you have on your system.
Go here to download it. http://www.majorgeeks.com/download181.html
When you find out what you have post back here.

Try going to entertainment,R.click on it,in the properties window,R.click on
any
free space,select,new-shortcut,in the new window,type:
C:WINDOWS\system32\sndrec32.exe Then press enter,a new shrtcut should
now be available. However if windows files are missing, you should install xp
cd,
exit the info page, then go to run, type:cmd In cmd type:Sfc /Scannow The
win-
dows file checker will go thru and repair or replace system files..

any further. You could try using Aida System Information Utility. It's

Aida is no longer under development. I'm pretty sure Lavalys Everest
replaced Aida. Everest Home is free and available here:
