Microsoft jerks "you need 15 different system sound volumes"

Anybody who doesn't understand what I'm talking about doesn't use
system sounds. What a bunch of jerks at Microsoft. The term "system
sounds" is for global sounds. If a specific program system sound is
specified, an appropriate volume sound will be chosen for that
program.

The reason there is a system sound volume slider is to set the volume
of system sounds.

Microsoft's carelessness can be so incredibly frustrating.

I suspect you don't know what you're talking about either.

How interesting. I thought the system sound volume slider was to set
the output level on the sound card.

I guess the workaround is to set all volumes at 100% and forget about
individual volume control settings.
