OK, just plugged in a new microphone, and its working ok cause we i blow on
it i can hear it coming out of my speakers, although, when i try to use sound
recorder, its all greyed out, can someone help me?

Its so bloody annoying, lol, Can't think what it is. Its not the application
cause i downloaded a third party one and it does the same thing, says i can't
use it and list some reason only i have no idea how to resolve any of them.

Anyone experienced this before?

Thanks

Steve

Most likely you need to choose which option you want to do, it the play
option is choosen, then the record function will be greyed out, if record
then I imagine the play option will be greyed out, select the sound icon,
right click and open mixer settings, in the upper left hand corner should be
a drop down menu to choose what you want to do/see ie play controls or
record settings. if you have creative drivers
look for creative recorder, and choose your source ie mic or line in or
system mixer etc..

Thanks for gettin in touch with me, but i don't think i explained it very
well, its all greyed out, like it doesn't give me the option to do anything,
all the boxes are greyed out, i just don't get it. So to clarify, none of the
buttons are clickable, the mic comes through the speakers, and i'm totally
stumped, its mentions in the error message of the third party program that it
could have blocked access to the sound card, that mean anything to you? How
on earth do i fix that, lol

thanks again
