Sound problem

I have recently installed XP in a seperate partition. I still have ME running in another partion. Since doing so the sound has been unaffected in ME but there is no sound from any application in XP. I have done all the expected checks "troubleshooter" suggests but everything appears to be set correctly. Anyone any ideas?

Have you installed the correct drivers for the sound card in XP?

Check this: Open the device manager (Right click my computer >manage>device
manager)
click (+) sign next to sound video and game controllers . Your sound card
should be listed here.

If it is listed as an "unknown device" or a "PCI Multimedia audio device",
and with a yellow (!) mark, you havent installed the drivers.
