Sound Problem

Harry

I use Vista Business and an ASUS P4P800-VM MB with integrated sound
(Soundmax)
Device manager indicates all is OK and I can play the Vista sample music
with no problem. However when I try to play a music CD. nothing happens
except a message asking me to change to analog mode by clicking OK, again
but nothing happens. Also when trying an externa; DVD/CD player, the same
problem shows up.
Any suggestion please?

You will understand the root cause of your problem if you review the report
by Peter Gutmann of the Computer Science Department at the University of
Auckland, New Zealand.

Peter Gutmann is a well respected authority in computer security and we all
would be well advised to pay close attention and listen very carefully to
what this guy is saying.

The report gives a clear view of the catastrophe that is Windows Vista and
what is the root cause of the misery.
